Travel
time is here, and a lot of Red River members are doing it. Not only is it time
for summer vacations, it’s also time for some big out-of-town autocross events.
The TLAC (Trans-Louisiana Autocross Challenge) series took us to New Orleans on
May 20th and comes here to Shreveport on June 24th. The
Divisional series takes up the second full weekend of June (New Orleans,) July
(Houston,) and August (Houston.) Then there’s the SCCA/Tire Rack Solo Nationals
in Topeka and the Valvoline Runoffs at Mid Ohio- both in September- and the
final TLAC event at the new “No Problem Raceway” in Napoleonville in October.
The
Road Racers had a Regional/National at Texas World Speedway this month. But
their schedule is quiet for July and August. I guess that’s to give them plenty
of time to get ready for the Runoffs.
Please
mark Saturday, June 30th on your calendars. Our help is needed at
the dragstrip from 3:00 – 9:00 that day. Remember – it’s part of our agreement
with them to use the track. They let us use their parking lot on Sundays when
they’re not using it in return for our supplying manpower when they need it for
their big events.
