Can you believe a new season is about to start? So much to do (or would like to) to get ready. As you can see by the minutes of the January meeting we have a tentative schedule put together. I have edited the minutes and added confirmed to the events Rick has confirmed as a GO.
The PARTY to fix the equipment trailer is set for Feb. 9. The fun starts at 9 a.m. and continues until the trailer is ship-shape and the cone cleaning is complete. Bring your own beverage and work gloves. Use the RR Region forum to let Connie know what you are bringing to go with the hamburger patties.
I hope everyone is as excited about the upcoming season as I am. I had a great time last year and got to meet a bunch of really great people. My thanks to Gary Linde for letting me share his Miata at the last Auto-X and to Rael Nidess for offering the same with his ride. Let’s all pitch in and help where and when we can so everyone can enjoy this great sport.
The Chicago makers of the 1902 Caloric claimed that their engine could be started by using a high-power blowtorch to blast the cylinder head, until it got red hot and the engine cylinders ignited. Wow! That can provoke some scary mental images.
You might be a racer if . . .
· You refer to the corner down the street as “Turn One”.
· You look at the fire hydrant at that corner and see an apex marker.
· Everywhere you go, you try to find the fastest line through the turn.
· You have car parts in your cubicle at work.
Your tool box.
Always have Duct Tape and WD-40.
If it moves and it shouln’t, use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn’t move and it should, use the WD-40.
