Me at ArtBreak 1999 in Shreveport, La

Hello, I'm Michael Neal Phillips. After years of seeing super heroes with a variety of super powers and names that include words like super, incredible, fantastic, and amazing, I got the idea that it would be fun to do something different and create a hero that is just adequate. I enjoy doing the Adequate Man comic, because it gives me a way to share with others my sense of humor. The Adequate Man comic books are clean, wholesome and safe for young readers. I have enjoyed comics all my life and grew up admiring those who created comics. That is why I'm thankful that I now have the chance to create comics. I hope others will enjoy the Adequate Man comic as much as I have enjoyed other people's comics.

I had a great time at ArtBreak 2001 and 2002 doing sidewalk art. I'm looking forward to doing sidewalk art for ArtBreak 2003. My two favorite things I drew were a line of ants and a giant tarantula. Many others joined me drawing on the sidewalk. We had the front sidewalk of The Expo Hall covered with chalk drawings.
