Our Mission Statement
"Shreve City Baptist Church is a body of baptized believers,seeking the best way to love and serve God. Our mission is to worship and serve Him, equip His people, and proclaim His gospel."
Our doctrine
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God, and the only way by which anyone may know Him. Sin separates all of us from God, but – because of His great love and grace – God, through Jesus, pursues a continuing love relationship with us that is real and personal. This relationship becomes a reality when we trust Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior.
It is through the Bible, God’s holy word, that we come to know Jesus and learn His ways. We accept the Bible as God’s rule of faith and practice. For this reason all worship services and educational programs are grounded in the scripture.
We observe two ordinances. Believers’ Baptism, by immersion, is a symbol of one’s own death to sin and new life in Christ. It is also a public profession of one’s faith to the church body. The Lord’s Supper, or Communion, is celebrated once every quarter as a memorial to the sacrifice God provided for our salvation and a reminder of His promise to return for His church.
We believe that, in the final analysis, your faith is a personal matter developed between you and the Lord. Our role is to nurture that faith so that it develops into a growing, meaningful relationship that truly makes a difference in your life. As our mission statement says, "Our mission is to worship and serve Him, equip His people, and proclaim His gospel."
